About the Author

Kathy Clark was recognized by the New York Times as a bestselling author from her very first book. Twenty three women's fiction novels later she has sold nearly 3 million copies in more than 9 languages. Her plot lines have always championed women's empowerment and her strong female characters always placed the heroine in real–life situations that deal with the trauma of messy divorce, life–threatening illness, and warts–and–all relationships. Her stories will make you laugh and cry and her characters will live in your heart forever.

While Kathy may have started as a romance writer, her plotlines always pushed the limits of genre. Her writing discipline is slightly unorthodox in that she believes her most creative period is the middle of night. Once her characters have been established and plot set up, she lets them take over. She believes that well–defined characters and an interesting plot should progress organically and that the writer should stay out of the way and not succumb to the temptation of manipulating the outcome. Often she is as surprised as the reader by what happens next! But by listening to her characters' true voices, her books have heart and soul as they deal with the complex issues of real life.

Kathy took an extended break to write and develop screenplays, many of which center on stories that have never been told on the big screen. Her spec and commissioned scripts cover a wide range of subjects from a 19th century Colorado silver baron's love story with real ties to Hollywood, Al Capone and the Titanic to the biggest life altering event in the 20th century and the anti–war riots of the 1970's to the most accomplished female aviator in history and the birth of the WASP program to rollicking romantic comedies. Truth can be stranger than fiction but then one day you may see her work on the big screen and just say, "Wow, I didn't know that!"

After extensive research she launched in September a new series, Denver After Dark. The first book, After Midnight, appears exclusively on Amazon.com on September 21st. Hooker to lover or low–life to no–life. Her ultimate survival is the hands of a Denver cop who was nearly killed during a routine contact stop which she was the target. This original plot with a strong female heroine will capture you from the start.

2012 has been a busy one for Kathy as she teamed up with her husband, publicist to write a mainstream novel, Life's What Happens. This is the story of seven college men caught up in the randomness of the selective service lottery of 1969 that impacted their and more than a million other's lives forever! Ask U.S. male born between 1944 and 1950, and there were over 23,000,000 of them, they will know their Vietnam era draft number. They will also know men who made decisions to not change their plans or to take a different course. Through it all Life's what happens when you're making your plans.
