He is also a survivor who doesn't like to be screwed with, and though he realizes that Morrigan is something more than even she understands, he wonders why she was sent ... a mortal ... to kill him. Something that would be laughable if his heart wasn't starting to belong to her. They really do make a perfect couple. A few home truths come out about Morrigan's background and what really happened the night she was sent to hell. Maccus opens his heart, and when he is given the choice of protecting her even beyond life or destroying everything in sight. What choice does he have?
