Haley can't believe her boss is serious. She reluctantly attends camp, where her phone and computer are taken away from her until nighttime. She's shown to the Angel room where she immediately shoves all the angel statues into a drawer. She's not looking forward to her time here, but she's determined to make the best of it and show her boss she has some Christmas spirit too.
Haley wants to rush through all the activities as fast as possible so she can get the certificate and go home. She has so much work to do if she wants to get ready for the pitch. But camp doesn't work like that. Every day has a new theme and a new plan.
As Haley gets to know the people attending camp with her and the owners, the more fun she starts having. She's still hoping to leave as soon as possible but she can't deny that part of her enjoys all the activities -- and the people.
Jeff's trying to convince his father to sell the inn now that his mother's passed away. He wants to move Ben to Boston to be closer to him. He's taken the week off from work for one last Christmas Camp. He can't quite figure Haley out, one moment they're having fun together and the next minute she's all business. He wonders if she feels the same pull.
CHRISTMAS CAMP by Karen Schaler is all about remembering old and forming new holiday traditions. Haley's boss hopes she will find a balance between work and life. Haley's been so busy working lately, she hasn't had time for anything else. At Christmas Camp, she's cutting down her own tree, going sledding, decorating cookies, and taking the inn's dog for morning walks.
Max, the inn's dog steals the book with his cute antics. He joins in on all the fun, even wearing an ugly Christmas sweater with cats on it. The other secondary characters help round out the book nicely with a newlywed couple looking for their own traditions, a mother missing her son, and a newly divorced father trying to connect with his teenagers.
Haley rediscovers joy in everyday tasks as she falls in love with Christmas, with Max, and with Jeff. Warning: this delightful book will make you want to deck the halls, bake cookies, and sing Christmas songs.

But when he finds out Haley’s come up with a plan to help his dad save the struggling inn while he’s been trying to convince his dad to sell it, their relationship takes a serious holiday hit. Now it will take the magic of the season to bring these two hearts together.
