When Olivia releases her debut book with the help from Vivan, little does she knows that a real-life mystery is about to come to light. Vivian has supplied the Victorian secret diary of Anabel Burley in which she confesses to the murder of her husband. Olivia is over the moon with this discovery and can not wait to tell her story. Vivian aids Olivia by conducting nearly all of the research for the book.
I was immediately drawn into a world that is realistic and thrilling. A mysterious world with so many secrets and so many lies. Can two women work together or will jealously get the better of them? The characters are relatable and realistic with interesting backstories that hold a dark secret... A secret that could destroy the future and everything in their lives.
Atkins has beautiful writing that brings the characters and the story to life with impressive characters and a story that is haunting. Told from alternating point of views, the character development is intense and fascinating. An unfolding story that will leave you knowing that something is coming, you can feel it, but cannot quite grasp it.
THE NIGHT VISITOR is an immensely creepy addictive page-turner that pulls you in until you are absorbed. You become a part of a story that you will not be able to put down.
