Kateri Kwinault is the deputy sheriff in Virtue Falls. Kateri is the first women to be the deputy sheriff and she knows she must do a great job to prove that she deserves this position. Kateri and Merida are old friends, but it has been years since they've seen each other. She's shocked when Merida shows up in Virtue in Virtue Falls. Kateri has no idea what Merida has on her mind. Several murders are taking place in Virtue Falls, and Katerik thinks there may be a connection between them and Merida, but what could it be?

Merida also meets up with her first love, Benedict. Their love life ended right after an accident nine years ago, but Merida was told one story and Benedict another. As they start to get close again, they figure out they've been told lies for all this time. What is the real reason behind all of this? Merida is baffled and rethinks her opinions of her former boyfriend.

I really enjoy all of Christina Dodd's stories, and THE WOMAN WHO COULDN'T SCREAM. Dodd has a way of writing that I know once I start one of her books, I can't put it down. This story really held my attention. There are really several stories going on in this book. Don't worry, you won't confused at all. I found myself inside this book, just as if I was Merida. My emotions went from sad to happy.

Dodd also writes about two friends that after years meet up again and continue their friendship. There are also two romances going on, both for Merida and for Kateri. This does not take away from the mystery, which is still the main focus of the story. This book is also the fourth one that takes place in Virtue Falls, but you don't need to read the previous books to understand what is happening. If you love mysteries, give this one a try.
