Mel Turner renovates historic homes and specializes in restoring older homes in the San Francisco area. Along the way, she has encountered ghosts and murder mysteries that seem to always pop up on her construction sites. Mel's friend Alicia hires Mel's company to renovate an old lighthouse into an inn. However, there is a ghost that haunts the lighthouse stairs. This mournful ghost creates lots of drama for Mel when the renovation first begins. Always making things eventful on the job site, Mel wonders why this ghost is still hanging around the lighthouse. But this is not the only mystery we have to solve: Alicia's abusive ex-husband shows up making trouble of his own. When he takes an unexpectedly fatal fall down the lighthouse stairs, things seem to point to Alicia... Was the ghost to blame for his death, or was it just karma?

This time of the year when the weather starts to turn cooler and the days start to get shorter is the perfect time to read a good mystery novel. There is nothing better on a cool, gloomy day than snuggling up with a warm blanket, a hot cup of tea and a good mystery. A GHOSTLY LIGHT is the perfect mystery to get lost in. While this book is the seventh book in the Haunted Home Renovation Series , it can easily be read as a standalone novel.

The lighthouse makes for the perfect setting for a good mystery. I really love lighthouses so when I got the chance to read about a mystery that takes place in one, I knew I would get lost in the story. This along with a good well-rounded list of characters who have interesting backstories makes this book a must-read. I really enjoyed the paranormal elements that help make this mystery a good read that will make you jump at all the things that go bump in the night. I did add the previous novels in the Haunted Home Renovation Mystery Book Series to my reading list.
