What do you do when your own brother tries to trade you for some horses or even worse sell you off for money? Lady Murine does what most women would do; she runs. Lady murine is trying to get to her friend's home who just happens to be the sister of the group of men she happens upon during her escape. Dougall and his brothers decide that they are going to protect and help Lady Murine on her journey. Soon Dougall realizes that he wants more from Murine and must prove himself to her.

FALLING FOR THE HIGHLANDER is a sweet and fun read. Lady Murine is a smart woman who is dealing with some hard circumstances in her life. She fights and does what she can to survive. Dougall is a good man with a big heart. The two make a good couple and work well together. As their adventure goes on it seems that there is a mystery afoot. They must figure out who is trying to kill them before they can make it home. I enjoyed watching their relationship take shape and seeing the two fight for their love was a nice read. Their story is full of adventure and humor alongside a good dose of romance and emotions. It moves at a good pace and kept my attention all the way to the end.

I loved the interaction between these characters especially the brothers. I enjoyed these characters and hope that we get to return to see Dougall's brothers get their happy ever after's as well. It was fun to see Lady Murine as a feisty woman and having to deal with all of her fainting spells. Dougall and Murine's story is full of fun and a bit of mystery as well. They are on an adventure of a lifetime and love could be the end for them.

As always Lynsay Sands pulled me in to another wonderful world and had me falling for the characters, hoping for love to win in the end.
