THE BONE HUNTERS is the second book in the Lexy Vaughan & Steve Macaulay series but the adventures in each book stand on their own merits. I loved Lexy and Macaulay in the first book so I was thrilled to see them back together in THE BONE HUNTERS. We get some of the same likable characters from VALHALLA while meeting a few new ones as well.

THE BONE HUNTERS kicks off at a fast pace that never stops as action and intrigue are at the heart of the story. Lexy, Macauley, and Barnaby have to unravel the historical clues to determine what might have happened to Peking Man. Robert J. Mrazek does a marvelous job at making a historical mystery seem not only timely and relevant, but absolutely fascinating as well. In fact, seeing June Corcoran and Lieutenant Colonel Tommy Somervell navigate the maze of historical documents, both classified and unclassified, is almost as intriguing as the constant action and threats faced by Lexy, Macaulay, and Barnaby.

THE BONE HUNTERS is chock full of action as Robert J. Mrazek keeps the tension level high. THE BONE HUNTERS isn't the sort of book you start reading at bedtime as you're liable to end up all night after promising you'll stop after just one more page. I hope there are future thrillers in store for us in the Lexy Vaughan & Steve Macaulay series!
