Rhiannon Frater blew me away with DEAD SPOTS! Just when I thought I had everything figured out, BAM! She throws another twist into her dark and scary world. Rhiannon Frater truly captures the stuff that nightmares are made of in DEAD SPOTS. Whether it's the paranormal or the all- too-real loss of a loved one, DEAD SPOTS takes those fears and crafts them into a world I hope I never visit in my dreams - and I certainly won't be visiting any abandoned buildings after reading it!

Mackenzie is a phenomenal heroine and I love her loyalty and kindness, even when her own grief and fears seem so overwhelming. Rhiannon Frater does a marvelous job at portraying a mother's grief as well as society's own discomfort with that grief. However, it is the moment when Mackenzie realizes she has already faced the worst thing possible - her son's stillbirth and the subsequent loss of her marriage - that made me want to get up and cheer for this character with so much inner strength!

DEAD SPOTS is horror at its finest! We have zombies, clowns, ghosts, and even sharks to terrify you. Rhiannon Frater does a marvelous job at creating multifaceted characters, a complex world, and a plot that makes you question every single aspect of what the characters see or do. I can't rave enough about DEAD SPOTS, even as I look forward to exploring the other worlds of Rhiannon Frater in the future. DEAD SPOTS is simply brilliant!
