Exiled from their tiny country after a rebellion, Princess Amy and her older sister survive by selling cosmetics incognito in English and Scottish villages. Warned that assassins follow them, they never stay long at any location. Amy rages against the world that can never be. She abandons her sister and strikes out on her own. Through misadventure, Amy arrives at a small fishing village where she encounters severe poverty due to a disinterested owner. Wishing to repay the villagers for their kindness, Amy tries to alleviate their poverty with a scheme to kidnap and ransom the owner. The kidnapping proves simple. The ransom proves impossible. No one wants the landowner returned.

Jermyn, Marquess of Northcliff, returns to his estate to recuperate from a carriage injury. Bored by the locals' activities and his convalesces, Jermyn snarls at his servants and is oblivious to the shabbiness surrounding his estate. Business does not interest him; he leaves all of his estate management to his uncle. Jermyn receives his allowances and has no money worries due to his uncle's supervision of his finances. When a mere young woman succeeds in kidnapping him, Jermyn is appalled at her gall. When his uncle refuses to pay his ransom, Jermyn reevaluates his life.

Manacled to the wall, Jermyn must listen as Amy taunts him for his arrogance. The fights enflame their passion until they give in to lust. Their ardor gives way to love, but their relationship is threatened when Amy commits the one sin Jermyn cannot forgive.

Master storyteller Christina Dodd pens the second story in her Lost Princess series. Readers' expectations are certainly met while watching the transformation of the feisty heroine and oblivious Jermyn into caring human beings with the capacity to forgive and love.

Book Summary

Once upon a time...in a kingdom high in the Pyrenees, three young princesses were forced to flee the chaos in their land -- vanishing without a trace and lost to their people...until the day a courageous prince can bring each princess home.

Life in exile has taught the passionate Princess Amy to hate injustice, and on the enchanting English isle of Summerwind, she finds injustice personified in the powerful and wickedly handsome Jermyn Edmondson, marquess of Northcliff. Since he has stolen the islanders' livelihood, Amy decides to steal him. She kidnaps the arrogant nobleman, chains him with his own manacles, and holds him for ransom.

It's a simple plan, destined to succeed. Surely Jermyn's uncle will pay his ransom. Alas, his uncle would be delighted if someone killed his nephew and left him to inherit the title and fortune. And holding the furious, guileful, sensual Jermyn chained in her basement provides a challenge to Amy's restraint...and her virtue.

How could such a little revenge and blackmail go so passionately wrong?
