Falcon Securities Agent Jake Taylor has been sent in to protect Tessa but finds there is much more to the story than even his boss knew. On top of Tessa being found out, he has to deal with an irate drug lord, thankfully inept hitmen, corrupt politicians and government employees. Complicating matters is an Afghan extremist who is somehow involved in this mess. Also unexpected is his growing feelings for the impulsive, impetuous Tessa ... and the heart he thought frozen by tragedy is slowly thawing.

With OUT OF THE DEPTHS author Geri Foster throws you off the deep end right from the start and the action continues hot and heavy from there. At first this couple seems mismatched but as you read you will find they are just what the other needs. Tessa is an intriguing character, she is no where near perfect, has a mind set that won't be shaken and is obviously frustrated that the information she sent to the authorities was ignored and her brother's killer is running free. Jake is no nonsense, by the book agent, who doesn't want to fall for Tessa. He blames himself for the deaths of his wife and child and had frozen his heart since then, but we watch as despite the danger, or maybe because of it, it starts to melt. I loved the pace of the story though on a personal note I felt that there might have been just a few too many bad guys to deal with. I found a couple of times I had to go back to sort out who was who. That said Ms. Foster's Falcon Securities books are all fast paced, with a lot of action, some gun play with the right amount of added spice to make for a good read and OUT OF THE DEPTHS is no exception. As with all the other Falcon Securities books this one is going into my TRA shelf as I wait for the next offering.
