Georgie lived way over her means. She felt that she had to do this so people would never find out the truth. Through all of this, at her job there are some big changes. The company that she works for has brought in Maxine. Maxine has her own idea how everyone should do their jobs.
Maxine is pitting one employee against another. Georgie seems to be stuck in the middle of her best friend James and the new guy Tom. The other problem is Georgie has feelings for both of them.
Through all of this, Georgie, is deciding if she wants to forgive her father for all that he did to her and her mom.
Alexandra Brown writes a wonderful book involving family and friends. Ms. Brown gets to the heart of the problem between Georgie and her father. I also enjoyed how she showed a true friendship between Georgie and her best friend Sam. Both main characters have problems, and the author writes how both of their lives were connected.
CUPCAKES AT CARRINGTON'S is a very enjoyable read. I would like to see a second book to see how their lives turned out.
