Phoebe Leighton is a photojournalist, in Afghanistan to do a pictorial story about the child brides of Muslim men. Phoebe was once a sensational journalist and had written an article demeaning Seth after his rescue from captivity but is now sorry for helping to ruin his life. After changing her name and line of work, Phoebe is attempting to help the women she is photographing get away from their bleak lives. She comes across a young woman named Tehani, who had recently escaped from her powerful husband. Phoebe takes her to a safe house in a nearby town for safety. While in the market one day, she spies Seth, and afraid he might find out who she is, she runs.

After some difficulty with local thugs, they wind up hiding together. Phoebe discovers that Seth and his team are in Afghanistan to look for the very same man who helped Tehani escape from her husband Siddiqui. Tehani also holds information proving that not only is Siddiqui holding the missing marine, Zak Hendricks, he is also looking to buy a nuclear bomb. Since Phoebe knows the area where Siddiqui is holding Zak, she goes with the mercenaries to find the hideout. As the mission progresses, a friendship forms between Seth and Phoebe and soon blossoms into something more. However, Phoebe has never told Seth who she really is, and she's afraid that if he finds out their relationship will be over before it really begins.

HONOR RECLAIMED is an action packed military story and romance. This is the second book in author Tonya Burrows HORNET hostage rescue series. Where the first book, SEAL of Honor, introduces the ragtag team of misfits, HONOR RECLAIMED really brings the characters and their line of work to life and is a recommended read for fans of gritty military romances. The story is a stark, often horror-filled, view of a military op in a war-torn country. All of the men on the team, however, are broken in one way or another. It is difficult to believe that these men can pull themselves together to sustain a stable relationship with one another, much less a successful mercenary operation. Most of the team get their chance to shine here, and several of the members get backstories lined up for their own books. HONOR RECLAIMED is an overall more cohesive and enjoyable story than the first book of the series and can be read as a standalone.
