This is book three and the final chapter in Sylvian Reynard's Gabriel's Inferno series. This book picks up six months after book two, Gabriel's Rapture. Professor Gabriel Emerson and his new wife Julianne have left the turmoil at the University of Toronto to embark on their new life together as newlyweds in Boston. There was so much drama and angst in the beginning of their relationship, but now they have made it through the fire and are happy together. They have the normal marital problems but their love is always present and is never trampled on. I think the road they had to endure to be together really makes them so much more appreciative of what they do have with each other. To see them stand united, declaring their love for each other openly and without any doubts is beautiful.

Julianne is working on her PhD at Harvard when Gabriel decides that he wants to be a father. Julianne's graduate program at Harvard threatens Gabriel's plans. As the pressures of being a student become all consuming, Julianne is given the honor of presenting an academic lecture in Oxford. However, her research and presentation conflicts with his own. Not to mention that several individuals from their past appear to want to sabotage Julianne's lecture.

Gabriel has come a long way since the beginning of his relationship with Julianne. In an effort to continue on his path to confront his remaining demons, Gabriel has been digging into his biological parents. In doing so, he meets his half sister and learns that the father he remembers is not the same father that she had.

When the couple are given an unexpected gift, Gabriel is ecstatic, while Julianne can't help but feel that all her hard work will be for nothing. When the threat of losing Julianne becomes all to real for Gabriel, will this fling him back into his past or will he continue to move forward and finally be rid of his remaining demons?

I really enjoyed this series. I love how Gabriel has slowly overcome most of his demons and his past and how the couple has dealt with each bump in the road. Where he had been dead set on becoming a father, to now wanting a baby with Julianne. This series requires you to read the books in order. There is just so much of a back story that you need to go through in order to fully understand the relationship these two have. Since this is the only books that author, Sylvain Reynard has published, I am certainly curious to see what she will come out with next.
