Without reading the previous books, Bea's sister Peyton might come off seeming too harsh. However, after reading Books one and two you understand the family dynamics and how Bea's mother and her manipulations influenced the relationships her children developed with each other.

It's kind of interesting that at one point the male characters all reflect and are able to pinpoint what is wrong with the relationship between the two sisters, while the women seem to be oblivious. I wasn't sure, when reading Book one, if I would like Bea Muldoon. Happily, with each book, her character seemed to grow and have more depth. She grew on me. I loved how, in this story, she was able to challenge herself and feel a huge sense of accomplishment and capability.

I also like that the hero, veterinarian Morgan, encouraged her and boosted her self- esteem in healthy, positive ways. Her brother Trace and sister Peyton are both good people and love their sister but, without realizing it, have contributed to her lack of confidence in some areas. Morgan is an adorable, geeky guy and they are great as a couple. In addition to the sweet and sexy romance between Bea and Morgan, there are some serious family issues that are explored in this story but there is no melodrama.

I love BUSTING LOOSE and the others in this series because of the fleshed out, strong, likable, totally relatable characters. For me, this story is very character-driven. I also enjoyed the supporting character of Bea's overly-dressed dog Milton. He made for some funny, cute scenes. I like that Morgan got Bea's relationship with her dog and didn't act patronizing in any way.

The only real conflict in this story was Bea's struggle to find her identity. Her journey of self-discovery throughout the course of this book is enjoyable and interesting. I can't wait to read the next book put out by this author! This series has made me a fan.
