THE BOLEYN DECEIT is a historical novel full of imagination and scandal. As a huge geek about anything Tudor and British, the reimagining of the Tudor history is clever and thought provoking. Though I always believe every historical novel can take surprising turns and twists, one of the things that can be a downside is knowing how it ends already. In this Boleyn trilogy, you have no idea how things will turn o out. Laura Andersen takes the historical figures and uses them in a new manner if Anne Boleyn had a son.

What I enjoy most in THE BOLEYN DECEIT is one of the main characters, Minuette. At first, she seems to not be bright, to be a little frivolous and shallow. However, she slowly becomes noticeably more cunning and intelligence while maintaining her good heart. Her character is well beloved in the series, and it is easy to see why. The chemistry between her and Dominic and her and William truly leaps off the page and brings the love triangle to a new level. Around the romance, the suspense and scandal at the court is absolutely delicious. I love the mystery that consistently goes throughout the novel and heightens the odds for everyone.

If you enjoy historical fiction with a great twist, then this is a great series to pick up. THE BOLEYN DECEIT offers even more suspense than the first book, THE BOLEYN KING, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the end of the trilogy.
