Hannah Copper wants nothing more than to return to Boston spouse free, and she's worried about her family under her mean stepfather's care. The Scottish Earl is her savior, and when they are stranded for a night their true feelings show. Hannah and Asher can't fall in love, because if they do their obligations could tear them apart.
Grace Burrowes has once again written a compelling romance with a strong plot and enduring characters. Asher is a unique romance hero, and his past life is mysterious and distinctive. Hannah is not an uncommon heroine, but she realizes her feelings for Asher quickly, and also knows she can't be with him and help her family. Both Asher and Hannah are well - rounded, and I found them to be some of the most likable characters I've read about in a historical romance.
The secondary characters are humorous and help move the dialogue and storyline. I found myself frustrated with Hannah's aunt for her behavior, but I also found myself laughing at her hysterics, and surprised by her choices. I fell in love with Asher's family and would myself like to become a part of it. Everyone is full of love, understanding, and hard truths, and I can imagine a real family when reading about the MacGregors.
The ending is a shocker, and I was saddened to have THE MACGREOGOR'S LADY come to an end. Overall, I enjoyed Burrowes' THE MACGREOGOR'S LADY a great deal and romance fans will not be disappointed.
