When the call to arms goes out, dragon Golgorath (Rath) is in the sky and ready to help in anyway he can. Rath no longer has a knight so he didn't have to wait as his mate Lady Sharlis waited for her knight before taking to the sky. They race to the battle raging outside of an old keep, a noble house under attack by the snakelike skiths. Rath is saved by the keeps new MASTER AT ARMS and things will not be the same for him, his mate or the lovely lady of the keep, Lady Cara.

Cara Fadoral can fight and will but she is no leader. She leaves that to the new MASTER AT ARMS Tristan Dalen. He is a foreigner, reckless but brave, someone she has come to rely on in many ways. That is until her brother recovers from his wounds and takes over the keep again and moves on with his plan to sell her off to the highest bidder.

Rath takes in much with his dragon eyes and he sees that Tristan and Thorn, his mate's knight, are both deeply attracted to the Lady Cara. He plans to take his time in recovering from the venom caused wounds and think on this problem. He needs a knight, one that has honor and ability, and he believes Tristan would do him well. With him as a knight he could reclaim his own mate but only if her knight and his can find their mate. And of course he sees the answer to that in the beautiful Lady Cara. Now to work the magic that is love.

MASTER AT ARMS moves at a lightening pace from start to finish. Rath is a crafty matchmaker who sees the humans he needs to complete his family and does what is necessary to make sure they know they need each other. This Dragon Knights book by author Bianca D'Arc is marked Book 2.5, and is a little different coming more from the dragon's point of view and the humans being hot and steamy secondary characters. This is a short story to keep readers of the Dragon Knight series happy and believe me you will be delighted. It is another winner!
