Packing to go on a get-away with her FBI boyfriend, Dutch Rivers, professional psychic Abby Cooper finds herself heading for home to play nurse for Dutch, who's been shot in the backside, instead of to Canada,. Though disappointed in the change of plans, it gives her a chance to check out her newest investment, a fixer-upper she's purchased in partnership with her handyman, Dave, and her sister, Cat. Their first visit to the house, however, has them running for cover. Tools and hardware begin flying around, imbedding themselves in the wall, and Abby and Dutch see the body of a young woman lying at the bottom of the basement stairs; but the young woman disappears before they can call the cops.

Dave is determined to never enter the premises again unless the ghosts are exorcised. Unwilling to call her sister and tell her their investment is a bust, Abby begins an investigation into the history of the house. Calling on a genuine ghost buster, Abby decides her best bet is to discover the reason the ghosts have remained in the inhabitable house before involving professionals. Unraveling the abstract clues from her guides, Abby finds herself immersed in a mystery with origins all the way back to World War II.

Victoria Laurie has crafted a fantastic tale in this latest Psychic Eye Mystery. There are few things in life that upset Abby Cooper, but ghosts and her parents feature high on her list of terrifying things, and both turn up in A VISION OF MURDER, giving the reader a few real frights and a lot of laughs. Abby, Dutch, Milo, Dave and Cat lend their varied skills and takes on life to come up with a satisfying and surprising conclusion to this decades-old mystery.
