The Duke of Robinworth (Ashley) has always been guilt ridden and accused of the murder of his wife. He has been unable to keep a governess for his daughter, Anne, because of her mischievous nature and bad temper. Shunned by society over the accusation of his wife's death, he has become a recluse.

Sophia Thorne, from the land of the fey, has been given a mission to help Anne rid the horrific nightmares of her mother's death. Sophia's wings, pointy ears and unlimited magic allow her to flit through the night, squeezing through keyholes as needed. Unlocking Anne's secrets will heal the child. Sophia is accompanied by the pesky little garden gnome, Ronald. Recognizing Sophia is succumbing to the Duke's charms, his devilry escalates. At first botching her mission, Sophia must now reluctantly return to the world of the fey. Now that she has found the delights of sex she will be disgraced in her world. Torn between her consuming love for Ashley and her devotion to her world, she is transported by the wind and away from Ashley and Anne. What she doesn't know is that Ashley has one wish to be granted by Ronald as well as a secret leverage yet to be used.

I was completely enthralled with this mystical and highly amusing tale. The plot of this story is completely different from any I have read. I sincerely hope that this will be the beginning of a series of the feisty little faerie and her world of fey. This is a highly entertaining read for anyone who enjoys a little respite into the world of magic and make-believe. A LADY AND HER MAGIC is a very fast read that grabs your interest throughout to the very last page. Kudos to Tammy Falkner!
