Jessica Robinson is nearing her 40th birthday. Pregnant at 16 and disowned by her parents, Jessica took refuge with her Aunt Myra in Crickett Creek, Kentucky and recently moved back from Chicago where she was a world class chef. Her daughter, Madison, is now an aspiring young writer and teaching creative writing at the college. Jessica has taken over her aunt's struggling diner, Wine and Dine, in hopes that the Cricket Creek Cougars will help make it a success.

Ty McKenna, a former major leaguer, is co-owner in building a new stadium and becoming manager for the Cougars. Frequenting the restaurant in Chicago where Jessica was chef, Ty is now taking his meals at Wine and Dine. A reputation of being a player with the women follows him to Cricket Creek and Ty has to convince Jessica his interest in her is genuine and he is truly a one woman man. Jessica, being deserted by Madison's father in her time of need, keeps to herself and cannot open herself up for hurt or trust again. Even the mind boggling sex doesn't convince Jessica. Ty spends more time trying to change her mind of his absolute devotion than he does in preparing his team for opening day.

I thoroughly enjoyed this amusing tale of baseball fanatics and a quiet little town that everyone falls in love with. The residents are all amusing and interesting. The town seems to have a reputation of helping the residents to find their soul mates. CATCH OF A LIFETIME was well written and completely monopolized my mind. This is the second book I have read from LuAnne McLane and will not be the last. I enjoyed CATCH OF A LIFETIME as much as I did the previous title I read from Ms. McLane. CATCH OF A LIFETIME is pure entertainment!
