Amelia and Jake seem like they should be a match made in heaven, but things go wrong and Amelia marries Jake's best friend. Years later, Amelia has a second chance to make it work with Jake, but there are more than a few obstacles and arguments in the way. As Amelia and Jake begin to come together and they slowly overcome their problems and marry, a new wrench is thrown in the works...Amelia may still be married, making her a bigamist.

There are a few interesting characters in LADY AMELIA'S MESS AND A HALF. Jake's brother is a complete rake, Amelia's friend is very "loose" for that time period, and Jake himself can be outrageous and sweet. Amelia is sweet and caring, readers will only want the best for her. The other characters are not as focused upon, but some characters literally come out of the woodwork...and surprise the reader. The plot itself is not necessarily new, but it is cute and sweet.
