Cathy Maxwell delivers a wonderful tale with THE SEDUCTION OF SCANDAL. Lady Corinne is a woman who wants only an upstanding husband who she could love and respect for his actions. She knows that the man she is being forced to marry is not this type of gentleman. Corinne lets her emotions lead her actions and it gets her into trouble more then once through out this tale. She does act like the spoiled daughter of a duke at first but her actions tend to be for the better good for those around her. The mysterious highwayman Thorn is portrayed as a cold-blooded murderer and thief but turns out to be an honorable man who only wants to protect the people of the village. Both characters draw the reader into the story through badly thought out plans and humorous interactions with each other. The mysteries of Thorn's heritage will pull the reader deeper into the story.
THE SEDUCTION OF SCANDAL is the type of book that you continue thinking about after you have read the last page. I was drawn into the story to the point that I did not want it to end. This is the first book written by Cathy Maxwell that I have read and I assure you, it will not be the last.
