In this Regency romance, Gray Sutherland is one of London's most notorious rakes. Mothers fear him, and daughters desire him. But Claire Ashcroft has only one thought on her mind when it comes to London's legendary womanizer-- revenge. Gray killed Claire's brother, Oliver, during a duel. Since her brother's death, Claire has been consumed by hatred and the desire to avenge the death of her only living relative.

Claire comes up with a clever plan to exact her revenge. She will insinuate herself into Gary's circles under the name of Claire Westfield. Once she is acquainted with her brother's murderer, she will use all her feminine charms to make him fall hopelessly in love with her. Once Claire is confident that she has Gray's heart, she will crush it the way he crushed hers when he killed her brother.

Claire's quest for revenge does not go as smoothly as she planned. She never imagined her brother's killer would be as impossibly handsome as Gray Sutherland. Claire manages to be noticed by her unsuspecting target, who is immediately taken in by Claire's beauty. Claire immediately kicks her plan into action, and her flirting with her worst enemy produces instant results. But Claire never imagined that she would need every ounce of strength to resist her brother's killer.

When Gray discovers Claire's real identity, he is stunned that the beauty he desperately desired is the sister of the man he killed in a duel years ago. Gray vows never to see Claire again, but their one night of passion changes everything.

Readers who enjoy a good love/hate relationship will be charmed by this regency romance. Claire and Gray's irresistible desire for each other defies all logic. THE SINS OF VISCOUNT SUTHERLAND does have a few flaws though. Claire's attraction to Gary is too sudden considering he murdered her brother. In one scene, Claire begins listing Gray's many faults, but she forgets to add that he murdered her brother.

Gray and Claire's stormy relationship and repeated breakups will leave readers frustrated. After a few chapters of comings and goings, readers will begin to feel that the characters are, in fact, better off apart. The ending was well-written and will satisfy readers. Once Claire and Gray work out their differences and realize the depth of their love, readers will feel like shedding a tear or two. However, Claire and Gray's constant bickering does grow tiresome.

Book Summary

Claire Ashcroft has good reason to despise Viscount Grayson Sutherland—and not because of his arrogance, charm, and irresistible allure. A wildly unpredictable man with a frightening reputation, Sutherland is responsible for the death of someone Claire loved deeply. She'd kill him if she could. Instead, she'll employ her feminine wiles to make him pay. And once he's deeply, irreversibly in love with her, she'll shatter his vulnerable heart and leave him broken. Her scheme works perfectly... too perfectly.

For who would have imagined that beneath Sutherland's dangerous exterior was a lost man haunted by his sins?

Or that one night in his arms would ignite a scandal so dire she'd be forced to wed the handsome blackguard?

Or that she'd find herself helpless, falling under the spell of the very rogue she means to destroy?
