"The vengeance of God seems to have taken hold in this futuristic-set Las Vegas."

Since the death of her partner/lover in the line of duty, Las Vegas homicide detective Payce Halligan has worked the streets alone. Now Payce finds herself assigned a new partner, British ex-cop Gavin McAllister, who has some past baggage of his own to deal with. Of course, they are attracted to each other, but neither is ready to pursue the matter further, especially since they are dealing with a rash of ritualistic murders involving religious overtones. Female victims are crucified and left suspended upside down on items resembling crosses.

They soon learn that a man calling himself CA (Crucifying Angel) is out to rid the world of harlots who threaten the New Creation, a religious cult on the outskirts of Las Vegas and a front for something even more sinister. And CA is being manipulated by The Messenger, the illusive head of New Creation. But all this knowledge comes at a terrible price when Payce is taken captive and Gavin must find her before she, too, becomes a victim of CA.

The action is fast and furious in this futuristic suspense, but leaves many unanswered questions and dangling plot threads at its conclusion. This cliffhanger leads into the next installments in the Future Imperfect series, MIRACULOUS DECEPTION (6/10) and FINAL DECEIT (1/11), also in e-book format only. It's obvious you'll have to read them for a truly satisfying conclusion to the story arc.
