Dr. Sara Donahue is a dedicated psychiatrist who specializes in trying to remove traumatic memories from the minds of her patients to hasten their recoveries. Her reasons for choosing this specialty are very personal and keep her determined to find the answers she seeks for her patients. One evening she comes home to find a large, handsome man huddled practically at her doorstep. As she tries to assist him, she opens the door to her apartment only to find a former patient waiting to attack her. What she witnesses then changes everything she thought she knew about her life.

Alexander Roman has done all he can to escape from the vampire rulers, as well as his cruel family. For hundreds of years it's been just him and his brothers; he is stunned when, out of nowhere, he suddenly finds that things have changed. He has changed. There's a war brewing that threatens the Pureblood vampires, and Alexander is forced into the role of trying to stop it. It is the beginning of his part in it that lands him unconscious at Sara's door.

Alexander takes the fact that Sara saved his life very seriously. So when she is attacked by her former patient, he returns the favor. Taking her with him to his home for safety reasons, he gradually shares his story with her. At first, unbelieving and frightened, Sara runs from Alexander. But before long, neither of them can ignore their attraction to each other and the bond that is forming between them.

Before it's over, Sara will discover many things about herself that will affect her future. That is, if she and Alexander live long enough to explore them.

ETERNAL HUNGER is the first in a series of books called Mark of the Vampire. Laura Wright has created characters with just the right amount of bravery, toughness, and passion to make them believable. As a reader, I cared about these characters and hated the ones she meant for me to despise.This was a rather hard book to put down once I started reading it. It captivates readers and draws them into the story as if they were a part of it. Ms. Wright does an excellent job with this genre and I can't wait for book number 2 in this series to come out!
