Side Jobs is a collection of short stories and novelettes that are fun and entertaining, as the Dresden Files have always been. They provide the reader with a more complete picture of those who surround Harry. You get to see things from Thomas' point of view in Backup, get a glance at Micheal's transformed life in Warrior, and finally a look at Murphy continuing on the fight without Harry. I have read most of these stories previously in the various anthologies in which they are available, but it is nice to have them all in one volume accompanied by the private notes of their origins from the author. Before each story, Jim Butcher allows us to see how the story came about-- from a class assignment to a new original novella following the tragic events the last Dresden Files novel Changes. If you haven't indulged in the Dresden Files before, these short stories will intrigue you. For those of us who are devout followers, there's more to love. 'Nuff said.
