Savannah O'Neill has lived a somewhat sheltered life. She refuses to venture far from home in fear of giving her heart and having it broken. Those that Savannah does love (her daughter, grandmother, and brothers) get her total love, no questions asked. The only person missing from that equation is the mother who abandoned her and her brothers and hasn't come back to claim them.

Matt Howe, if that is truly who he is, is having trouble loving himself. An accident he was unaware of and couldn't prevent has left him adrift in life. His father senses that Matt needs to find a focus in life, and sends him to Savannah's home in search of some missing gems.

Naturally Matt can't just ring the doorbell and announce that he's looking for missing gems. He can however answer the ad for a handyman, and hope to get into the house and conduct a search.

As Matt begins to feel welcome into the O'Neill home, Savannah's suspicions about who he is and just why he is there grow, but so does her attraction to him. Is she willing to risk her heart? Can Matt set aside his own issues and move forward to a lasting relationship with Savannah and her daughter?
