When Jack's estranged father, Senator Rivera, shows up at her door asking her to look into the accidental death of an acquaintance, Chrissy would not have agreed if she hadn't needed money for her ruptured septic system. Practicality and reality temporarily triumph over her resolutions. As she looks into the accidental death, Chrissy does not find any indications of murder. Then another accidental death occurs. Relying on old and new friends, Chrissy tackles the inquiry into the "accidents." The clues are few, but Chrissy's instincts scream that there is a connection. Balancing her fledging practice and her disastrous love life, she attempts to find the thread that ties it all together without losing her mind.

Ms. Greiman's Chrissy McMullen mystery series is a laugh-a- minute and an entertaining good time on par with Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. The chemistry sizzles and nearly burns the pages as Jack and Chrissy continue to spar in their unconsummated relationship. Something always interferes at just the wrong moment! New and more eccentric characters are added to the mix making this read more fun than eating a pan of brownies. The talented Ms. Greiman produces not only a humorous read but also a captivating, page-turning mystery, as well.
