When a construction site accident forces Alex to take a break from his business, around the same time that Jasmine begins acting out at school, he decides to volunteer his time and get more involved in his daughter's education during his recuperation. He doesn't count on meeting Renee Moore, the school's Special Projects Coordinator.

Sparks begin flying between Alex and Renee from their first encounter over an uncooperative school copy machine. Renee, carrying her own relationship battle scars, isn't sure whether she can—or should—trust Alex.

Farrah Rochon's RESCUE ME is the third book in the Holmes family trilogy, and for my money, the best of the three. Even if this is your first book in the series, you'll come away with a feel for a post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans that the author clearly loves, and a whole new group of friends in Alex, Eli, Toby, Mama Holmes and the rest of the cast of characters. RESCUE ME brings the reader more of Ms. Rochon's deft storytelling skills, including another look at Margo Holmes, family matriarch who has secrets of her own, while wrapping up the remaining brother in a captivating story of love that goes beyond past pain or blood ties.
