Heather Montgomery is a thinker, a planner, and then a doer. When she agrees to go to Las Vegas for her cousin Regina's bachelorette weekend, it's only because she knows she'll never hear the end of it if she doesn't. Off to Vegas go the stunning Regina, Regina's interchangeably beautiful blonde bridesmaids and Heather who sees herself as dull in comparison with the others. They are all shocked by the events of the weekend.

Heading up to her room Heather finds herself in the elevator with Tony McCaffery, a known ladies man who hangs out in a local bar she and her best friend frequent. He's just lost all his money at the hotel casino and feels his dream of owning the local bar fading away. When Heather offers to use the ten-dollar chip she just found to turn his luck around, Tony thinks she might be a little nutty. One lucky evening later, they've won enough money to buy Tony his bar, have a marriage certificate and massive hangovers.

The first bit of luck makes both of them happy, the second makes neither of them happy and the last makes it difficult for them to figure out what to do next. Mariage could be a problem for a man who doesn't like to commit and a woman who likes to consider all her options before making a decision. Now what?

The set-up for TALL TALES AND WEDDING VEILS should feel forced and silly, but it doesn't-- Not even a little. The characters have interesting reasons for the choices they make and it gives the whole story more oomph. You can't help but root for these two mismatched people and hope they discover what a great couple they could be.
