Jude Durant cannot believe his father hired a governess to teach him how to flirt. Jude realizes the murder of his older brother in France has settled heavily on the duke and the need for a future heir. The duke sent both sons to France for the Grand Tour, only to lose one and have Jude return not as the serious young man that left, but as an absurd French fop. Jude cannot reveal that he's working with the British to uncover who killed his brother. Jude uses the illusion that he's a fool to infiltrate the group of killers.
As Caroline banters with Jude, she sees him as a bit of a dandy, but he shows flashes of intelligence that contradict his behavior. Trying to ignore the puzzle he presents, she finds herself losing her heart to this absurd man. Jude battles his own heart as he maintains the impression of a dandy, while not ruining Caroline as she attempts respectability.
Funny and delightful describes MY FAIR TEMPTRESS. Dodd balances humor and intrigue with her usual deft skill leaving readers laughing after verbal exchanges between Jude and Caroline. Dodd also ends the tale with a revelation that begs for another book very soon.
