STRIP SEARCH is a well-written mystery with just the right amount of twists and turns to keep you guessing. Susan Pulaski is the typical fallen-from-grace female detective -- she's had trouble with men in the past, has one male detective she hates and who hates her, and she has to put on a tough façade while inside she's sad and struggling with her past. Pulaski is written in such a way that you're unsure in the beginning if you're going to like her. Despite all of that, by the end of the book, you're totally in her corner. William Bernhardt crafted her character well. Some of the dialogue is a bit contrived, but overall it flows nicely and you feel like you're there listening in on the conversation. I was hoping for something more out of the ending, but I was not disappointed. Overall, STRIP SEARCH is a good read -- it flows smoothly and keeps your attention.
