To keep from being arrested for shoplifting in Sydney, Australia, a disheveled woman claims to be the missing Rebecca Winter, to whom she bears an uncanny resemblance. She plays the timid victim perfectly, but cannot allow officials to take a blood sample. Not only will they learn she's not Rebecca, but they will also discover her real identity. Convincing authorities, and especially the parents, that she's Bec will take all her skills of deception. This brilliantly devised narrative, with many suspenseful twists and turns, gives a unique viewpoint of both situations. I was riveted to the chilling storyline from the start, never discerning the outcome until the astounding conclusion. I love when a new author can surprise me with uniquely crafted characters and unusual plot twists, and keep me engrossed until the final page, which is exactly what Anna Snoekstra has done with ONLY DAUGHTER. I can't wait for her next crime thriller!
