Izzy McNeil lives in Chicago and is an up and coming entertainment lawyer. She has the attention of media mogul Forester Pickett, and does all the legal work for his empire. Her boyfriend, Sam was introduced to her by Pickett, and is his main financial adviser.

When Forester dies unexpectedly Sam disappears, leaving Izzy to wonder why. Soon Izzy has a clue as to why Sam disappeared but can you really believe the circumstantial evidence? Who can Izzy trust, and how will her wanting to defend Sam impact her career?

Izzy is a lawyer and not an investigator, so she naturally turns to an investigator that she has occasionally used in her job. However, John has his own case that he needs assistance with, and Izzy just might be what he needs to crack his case.

Ms. Caldwell has taken two very different story lines and woven them together smoothly. Every good novel needs strong secondary characters to continue to drive it forward, and the cast in RED HOT LIES knows their role is to be secondary, yet strong enough that readers will want to know more about them as the Izzy McNeil trilogy moves forward.

There is a slight cliff hanger at the end however, I felt that it was written in such a way that I could stop reading at this point and be satisfied I had a complete story, or move forward and know that another exciting adventure was coming.

I'm looking forward to getting to know Izzy and her supporting cast in the future titles.
