In BLOOD BARGAIN,Keira Kelly is in love with Adam Walker. They are living on a ranch in small town Texas. Keira is half fairy and half shape shifter and Adam is a vampire. Her mother sent to live with her father when she was small because she didn't seem to have any fairy magic and she didn't seem to have the ability to shift as her shape shifting siblings did. Keira and Adam seem to be growing apart because Adam will not take blood from her or anyone and only drinks wine laced with blood. That's not a problem in itself, but Adam seems to be growing weaker. Keira and her brother Tucker go to a neighboring ranch that Adam is considering purchasing, and see ranch hands picking on what they think is an illegal worker. They get him away from the hands, and find he is searching for his brother who used to work on that ranch. When four teens go missing from town, Keira and Tucker, get drawn into the search for them and for the missing ranch hand.

This book grabs you from the start and keeps you turning pages until you solve the mystery. Keira's interactions with Adam, Tucker, and the people in the small town are so real you feel you are watching it unfold. I certainly will be watching for more books by Maria Lima.
